The Malted Barley

The kind of all-day beer hall every city needs.

By Bethany Graber

The German concept of a beer hall, where days are meant to be whiled away chatting over stouts and sharing pretzels, is a genius one. The Malted Barley enhanced this idea by adding televisions, board games, and enough varieties of beer, pretzels, and dipping sauces to keep Providence entertained and well fed from dawn to dusk. As you hunker down for an afternoon of flights and carbs, you’ll see people stopping in for a quick drink before heading to the nearby Dunkin’ Donuts Center to catch a concert or a Providence College Friars game. Prost!
