ArtsRiot

A go-to venue for art you can see, hear, and taste.

By Molly McDonough

From classic horror film screenings and The Moth StorySLAMs to political forums, holiday bazaars, and live female-led Tuareg rock bands from Niger, there’s always something intriguing happening at this sprawling venue in a South End warehouse. ArtsRiot—a nightlife destination with the same quirkiness of its home city—is your one-stop-shop for drinks, food, and art. Regardless of whether you’ll be staying for a show, it’s well worth spending an evening in the on-site restaurant. The walls are painted by local artists, the snacks are excellent, and the cocktails are as creative as the venue performances: think Martinis made with chili garlic-infused rice vinegar and a Frojito (a frozen Mojito). In summer, don’t miss the Truck Stop, an outdoor block party held each Friday that brings in Vermont’s best food trucks.
