Light Club Lamp Shop

Drink, dance, and shop for vintage lamps.

By Molly McDonough

Not to be confused with The Lamp Shop, a regular ol’ lamp purveyor in Burlington’s South End, this is a “lamp lounge”: Burlington’s mecca for cocktails and late-night dance parties.

The countless vintage lamps at Light Club are for sale—and it’s a great place to scope out your next whacky light fixture. But you probably came here to drink and dance. Built to encourage lounging and intimate conversation, the small space is filled with nooks and crannies to cozy into with a craft cocktail. On most nights, there are two live acts. Early in the week the spot skews mellower (think Irish sessions, poetry, and jazz). But Fridays and Saturdays erupt into all-out dance parties: the many lamps are dimmed as local hero DJ Taka spins disco and early house music from his obscure vinyl collection.
