Scout & Co.

From coffee to ice cream to donuts, these shops have everything you need to fuel up.

If you’re like us, the first thing you do when rolling into a new town is seek out your go-to coffee shop. It should have high-octane brews, wifi, outlets, and some space to sit; bonus if it’s got good pastries and snacks.

Scout & Co., with three locations tucked into neighborhoods away from Burlington’s main drag, is your place. Fresh beans from local Brio Coffeeworks and other reputable brewers are made into all the requisite drinks, from cold brews to cortados. You’ll also find those bonus treats: daily pastries, breakfast and lunch at the South End location (open on weekdays only), and homemade ice cream produced using local cream. Take note: It’s worth checking out the Old North End outpost try the Wafflegato: a fresh waffle doused in ice cream and espresso.

On weekends, Scout & Co. is one of just a few businesses where you can snag donuts from Miss Weinerz, Burlington’s buzziest donut purveyor. Her sourdough ferments for 48 hours before it’s fried and flavored with the likes of corn cream, lemon verbena, and anise hyssop sugar.
