New Rivers

Your date night spot.

By Jenna Pelletier

There’s some romance baked into New Rivers’ walls. Not only does its dining room—in a restored mill building outfitted with twinkly lights and cozy booths—ooze charm, but it has a history of being run by couples. Chef Bruce Tillinghast and his late wife, Pat, opened the New American bistro-style restaurant 29 years ago; now it’s run by chef Beau Vestal and his wife, Elizabeth, who met at the restaurant as employees before purchasing it. Local sourcing has always been a focus here, and house-made pastas and charcuterie are also staples on the frequently changing menu.
