Den Den Café Asiana

Korean and Japanese classics in a casual setting.

By Jenna Pelletier

It was as if the owners couldn’t decide between opening a coffee shop or a restaurant, so they opened an all-day Asian cafe. And it worked—especially among the abundant college-student clientele. But post-grads will be satisfied here, too, given the array of flavor-forward Korean and Japanese dishes. They’re served in fast-casual style; order at the counter and the food is delivered to your table once it’s ready. Here you can feast on the best of both countries’ culinary offerings—from Jap Chae to the Kimchi Pancake to Yaki Soba and Chicken Katsu—all on an undergrad’s budget.

  • Must Have

Den Den Hot Stone Bibimbap

It’s served traditional-style, in a sizzling stone pot, which gives it that satisfyingly crispy bottom layer of rice.

  • Insider Tip

The owners also run nearby Den Den Korean Fried Chicken, which is worth a visit for the double-fried wings and drums.
