When JC and Esther Tetreault tied the knot in 2009, they celebrated with homemade ales. And as the buzz for the brews spread among friends and family, it was clear that what started as a hobby was destined to grow. In 2013, the couple opened Trillium Brewing Company in Fort Point—and since then, drinkers have fallen harder for the suds with every sip. In fact, BeerAdvocaterecently reported that Trillium boasts 25 of the top 50-rated beers brewed in Massachusetts.
The original Fort Point brewery only had enough space for an on-site retail shop, but as more of Massachusetts got hooked on its hop-forward brews, the company opened a Canton facility with a full-service taproom as well as a seasonal beer garden on the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway in downtown Boston. The latter location, slated to open in late May, is the best place to sip our personal fave: the Double Dry Hopped Fort Point Pale Ale featuring Citra hops and a flavor profile laced with aromas of herbs and tropical fruit.
