Cisco Brewers Portsmouth

A beloved Nantucket institution is right at home in this seaside town.

By Catherine Smart

Before microbreweries dotted the N.H. landscape, Redhook was the place in Portsmouth to drink beer and see live music, sans side-eye for bringing your rambunctious toddler along for the ride. Recently the sprawling brewpub has been rebranded by Nantucket-based Cisco Brewers, who’ve brought island vibes, their juicy grapefruit Gripah IPA, lobster rolls, and the laid-back good times you’d expect from the folks who run Nantucket’s unofficial town square. The venue holds frequent events—from live music to first-time homebuyer happy hours—so check out their Facebook page to see what’s on tap for your visit.

Just like on ACK, the patio is dog-friendly (on-leash). Servers will bring over a cold drink for you and your pup, too.
