#Brunchpunch · Rosebud American Kitchen & Bar

By Eric Twardzik · 11/08/2019

Making a holiday punch at home sounds like an enticing prospect—until you realize you should have made the oleo saccharum the night before, and you don’t have a dozen friends on hand to help you drink it.

This refreshing, low-ABV cocktail from Rosebud American Kitchen and Bar, appropriately dubbed #Brunchpunch, uses ingredients you’re more likely to have on hand. Plus, the recipe makes a single serving, so you can channel a holiday fête any day of the week—even for a party of one.

Though several iterations of #Brunchpunch have made an appearance at Rosebud, its current form embraces the season with non-alcoholic apple cider (the kind you’ll find at farm stands and grocery stores) as one of its central components.

After lemon juice, barrel-aged bitters, and the French orange liqueur Combier are shaken with the cider and strained into a lowball, a few ounces of prosecco are added for an effervescent pop that complements the drink’s bright and acidic character.

As the name implies, it’s a great mid-day (or even late-morning) sipper. But its milder alcohol content makes it a good choice for winding down the night, too.

#Brunchpunch
2 ounces prosecco
1½ ounces apple cider
¾ ounce Combier
½ ounce lemon juice
2 dashes Fee Brothers Whiskey Barrel-Aged Bitters (or Angostura bitters)
Orange wheel, for garnish

Add apple cider, Combier, lemon juice, and bitters to a shaker filled with ice and shake until chilled. Strain into a lowball glass and fill glass with more ice. Top with prosecco and garnish with orange wheel.
