Claire Cheney is the founder of Curio Spice Co. which she created to source spices directly from farmers so as to celebrate their stories through unique blends. By spending time around the world, as well as working at some TFL favorites Oleana and Sofra, Claire has mastered the craft of spice. In this hands-on class, you will learn how spices can tell a narrative. By exploring 4 different geographies around the world (the Mediterranean, Ethiopia, Japan, and Central America), you will create a recipe that highlights the spices from that region. Recipes include Smoked Salmon Edo Spice and Ethiopian Cardamom Brownies. After that, you’ll get to create your own spice blend that draws on your own memories and story.
