Q&A: Nicole Lebedevitch of Yvonne's

07/25/2017

A love of music first brought Connecticut native Nicole Lebedevitch to Boston. While a student at the Berklee College of Music, she worked hospitality jobs in her spare time. She started working at Eastern Standard in 2005 and served as the opening bar manager for The Hawthorne in 2011. In 2016 Lebedevitch joined the team at Yvonne’s, where she now oversees the vibrant speakeasy-style bar as general manager.

Favorite Boston drink: Anything made by Patrick Orlovsky at The Baldwin Bar in Woburn. He has the best hand movements, the most graceful and subtle bar flair in the game, and [gives] beautiful balance to any drink that he makes.

Day off drinking destination: I like to escape out to [The] Townshend in Quincy. The whole team out there just makes you feel at home, and [Bar Manager] Palmer [Matthews] can shake up a mean daiquiri.

Favorite cocktail pairing: I immediately go to cognac and chocolate, a Vieux Carré and a simple salted caramel chocolate truffle.

Go-to garnish: I’m a sucker for flowers. Orchids, roses, and lavender. I like them because they’re a visual representation of flavors that are used in the cocktail, in addition to making the drinks look great.

Desert island drink: Banana daiquiri.
