Oberlin

A buzzy spot for just-caught crudo and handmade pasta.

By Jenna Pelletier

Not long after opening Birch, his refined 18-seat debut, chef Benjamin Sukle followed up with this more casual sister spot just a stone’s throw away. Sharable small- and large-format dishes show off the local catch of the day at its finest—from the Raw Black Bass lightly adorned with olive oil and lemon to a Whole Roasted Fluke with handmade couscous and caramelized fennel dressing. Hearty pastas like Mafaldine with shards of braised duck leg and fennel are dreamy, and the wine list favors funky, natural picks. Bring friends and fork into as many things as you can fit on the table.
